Israel hits militant sites in Gaza after rockets fired following deadly raid

The two rockets were fired around midnight (22:00 GMT on Thursday) but were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said. Air strikes soon followed on what the IDF said was an “underground missile manufacturing site” in the central Gaza Strip, owned by the Islamist militant group Hamas, which controls the area.
