TueWith the Berlin deadlock finally cleared, Ukraine gets its tanks: 14 German-designed Leopard 2s, and possibly many more from other European powers, as Germany has lifted its veto over sending them. This is along with 14 Challenger 2 tanks already pledged by the UK and 31 M1 Abrams tanks that the US has finally agreed to send. These Western models will provide a dramatic change in Ukrainian capabilities from the upgraded Soviet-era tanks they’ve gotten by with so far. But their arrival does not yet mean a quick or certain victory. By no means.
