A 30-year-old tourist who fell into the Anjos waterfall in Ponta do Sol today has been found and has already died from the fall.
A mountain rescue team of Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol mixed firefighters is currently removing the body from the scene.
The man reportedly fell from a height of about 30 meters, presumably while taking photographs.
About 10 firefighters worked at the scene, and the removal work is still ongoing.
According to firefighters, the alarm was received around 11:00.
Cascata dos Anjos is visited daily by tourists, despite the fact that the road is closed and it is a dangerous area where landslides and rockfalls occur, especially in winter.
